The Yo-Yo endurance test is used to evaluate the ability to work continuously for long periods of time. This test is especially useful for individuals who participate in endurance exercise, such as distance running. Based on scientific results it is possible to convert the test-results to maximum oxygen uptake. The test lasts between 5 and 15 minutes.
If a participant would like to be tested frequently or if he or she is unable to perform the test to exhaustion, the Yo-Yo endurance test can be stopped after 5 minutes and heart rate determined. The lower the heart rate the better the physical capacity.
